My introduction

Hi! My name is Brooke.  I would say a word that best describes me is spontaneous.  I love doing unplanned things and going with the flow, in school, and in my every day life. My goals include my future, such as where i'll be going to college and what i'll be doing with my life after high school.  I want to be a writer, or do something in politics, or be a veterinarian.  I have a few options.  I can't wait to finish high school and move on to more important things in life, and when i'm older, I hope to have a successful job and be happy with my life.  My interests now include cheerleading, writing, painting/drawing, and spending time with my friends and family.  I like seeing my friends at school, and my favorite class is English, because I love to write, or history, because I love history. I hate science and math in school. The qualities of my favorite teachers are caring, engaging, sarcastic, and able to making learning interesting and fun for me.  (Burk & Keller).  I love learning about history.  American history is my favorite.  I love learning about how our country used to be so different from how it is today.

Overall, I would say that I am mostly disappointed in humanity.  I feel like our society has come so far in technology, and media, and news, and weapons.  We are progressing in everything except as humans beings; as humans, we are digressing.  In the past, people focused much more on the core values of life.  People as a whole were more honest, forgiving, loving, caring, empathetic, and hardworking.  Today, these traits become harder and harder to find in a person.  People today care about materialistic things such as money and clothes and cars, and will do whatever it takes to get to what they want, ignoring the fact that they are throwing away morals and values to get there.  People today don't see what they have become.  We have become a society filled with people like Miley Cyrus, and Lindsay Lohan, where getting arrested and doing drugs and shocking the public by doing something heinous is the norm.  People today are so different than people 100 years ago, where our country was booming and prosperous; where people were concerned with hard work to get success, not cheating your way to the top, and certainly not making a public mockery of many important things.  Our society has come such a far way in such a short time; while we have made many advancements in our society today, I feel as though it is taking a long time for human minds to catch up to the level that everything else in our society is at.
